Bryson lips out on 17 and looked very agitated on the 18th tee box. The result is his first time in four runs at 18 and he hits water. All three other drives were picture perfect.

Damn, this is the monster movie that you can't kill the beast. Bryson hits an amazing shot to have a chance to stay in a playoff.

Unbelievable golf. Just amazing display of talent and determination.

Absolutely amazing stuff on display right now.  Cantlay’s match of Bryson on the Par 3, 5th playoff hole was one of the biggest clutch shots I’ve seen in golf.

Bryson had the pressure of teeing off first every playoff hole. Cantaly looking at always making the first approach shot on 18. That was a mental meat grinder for both of them.

That was a fun playoff. Cantlay was often in trouble so he had to play defensively. Watching him hang in there shot for shot was some entertaining golf.

Heck of a tournament, no one finished over par in the entire field.

Top 6 auto spots for Ryder Cup team are now confirmed.

Morikawa, Johnson, Bryson, Koepka, Thomas, Cantley

Next six currently are Finau, Schauffele, Spieth, English, Reed, and Berger…all of whom are comfortably ahead of the 13th guy.

Just the Tour Championship remains before the last six picks are made.

Be interesting to see if Stricker just goes with 7-12, and no one else.

Patrick Reed, after being seriously ill in the hospital with bilateral pneumonia, is actually playing in the Tour Championship. He's currently in last place but not playing too badly. His drives off the tee are averaging 280 yards though. 

Cantlay after Day 1 is leading, 2 strokes up on Rahm. English and DeChambeau are five back.

Cantlay almost eagled the par-4 13th, left his 2nd shot 2 inches from the hole. He birdied 17 and 18 and leads Rahm by one stroke. Rahm had the best round of the day at -5.

Rahm is on fire.

Actual -10 score is three better than the next golfers.

He’ll be a load to contend with on the Europe team.

Cantlay with a medium-long birdie putt on 18 takes a 2-shot lead over Rahm into Sunday. Justin Thomas is 5 back.

30 guys in the field who have worked their tales off to be there, and if you’re number 30, your reward for a season of successful work is to enter the final tournament ten shots behind the number one seed. Doesn’t seem like a good idea if you’re that guy.

Would have given him a 2-shot lead with five to go.
