  • Bedrosian: 44 G, 45 IP, 3.38 ERA, 0.6 fWAR
  • Anderson: 39 G, 34 IP, 3.97 ERA, 0.5 fWAR
  • Garcia: 37 G, 34 IP, 4.50 ERA, -0.5 fWAR
  • Ramirez: 33 G, 48 IP, 3.21 ERA, 0.4 fWAR
  • Allen: 25 G, 23 IP, 6.26 ERA, -0.7 fWAR
  • Bard: 19 G, 26 IP, 5.47 ERA, 0 fWAR
  • Total: 300 IP, 3.72 ERA, 2.6 fWAR

The only two relievers that hurt us in the first half of 2019 were Allen and Garcia, and they're both gone. Bard is still around, but he was already on the fringe last season.

Adding Middleton here will help a lot.

You know,  the Brewers rotation lacked name recognition and if Hader hadn't blown things, they would have knocked the Nats out of the postseason.

I don't know how they ranked statistically though.

There are lots of ways to build a winner and the recipe seems to change year to year.

Exactly. 

This team isn't built perfectly. A lot can still go wrong. 

But if the offense again averages something like an .800 OPS across the starting 9, and we just get any five SPs to post 20+ GS and a cumulative 4.00 ERA with a 3.50 bullpen ERA, this team probably wins 90 games pretty easily.

Ok.  There isn’t a single one of us who don’t know this.  Doesn’t mean there aren’t reasons guys choose other places that aren’t in Arte or Eppler’s control.

Yes, I agree that Teheran and Bundy can help stabilize things, but this in no way gets you deep in the playoffs.

I agree with you on the fact that they could have had another starter without  sacrificing young talent, but it didn't happen.  As for the playoffs part, until they can figure out a way to survive the regular season the playoffs are a pipe dream.  It's little like dreaming about going to Hawaii on a private yacht, but you live in Kansas and don't own a car.  Until you can find transportation to the West coast, and make a bundle of money, there is no way you are going anywhere.  There are a lot of steps to take, constantly banking on shortcuts usually doesn't get the adventure done.
