Also, do teams really need to say "we have requested unconditional release waivers for the purpose of granting him his unconditional release."  Isn't that obvious?  Why else would they be requesting unconditional release waivers?

I would offer him a contract for next season. He would probably be the only pitcher not to spend time on the IL

believe it or not, this is not the worst suggestion that has ever appeared on this board. we certainly know he's durable.

the amazing thing is Bartolo Colon could probably go out there in September, eat some innings and perhaps even have a quality start or two.

the guy won another 100 games or so after he was 'done' when we let him walk.
