I hate these " should've", "could've", "would've" articles. I'm sure we can expect an article next telling us that Segura could've been at the top of the lineup with Trout or Corbin could be in the rotation instead of Blantana.

Even if that trade went through that's 3 seasons before trout was drafted. So many things would therefore change, resulting in likely a different record and a different draft position. We may not even have trout.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda......in 2007 we had Chone Figgins at 3rd who hit .330, and we had a young Angels 1st round draft pick Casey Kotchman in his first full season at 1B with a young Kendry Morales to back him up. Miguel Cabrera played 3B in 2007 and committed 23 errors.

Trout dropped all the way to 25th.. So many teams are kicking themselves in the head and play the what if game... Just be glad that the Angels drafted Mike Trout.. Years from now, they will have a 30 for 30 on why so many teams didn't draft trout, kind of like in the nfl 83 draft in why so many teams didn't draft Dan Marino when they could had.

Yeah, but a whole mess of variables could have been in play if we had Cabrera and were looking for something else as a result or perhaps another team's draft analysis and priorities differed on the basis of what happened as a result of Cabrera being on the Angels and how that changes everything else.

 

All we know is that as things happened, we got Trout.
