They're throwing 180 now?

That's pretty good

Remember the Sports Illustrated April Fools Joke in 1985 about the Mets rookie who could throw a 168mph fastball while wearing one shoe, a heavy hiking boot? His name was Sidd Finch. He had just returned from months in Tibet and learned mind-body control with some guru. Mets players and coaches went along with the gag and it fooled a lot of people for about a week.

Remember a few years back when the Angels bullpen collectively struggled to average 90mph on their FBs...   Talk about a team doing a 180.

That was a Dipoto strategy... he thought relievers being 'fungible' meant that you could get shitty ones to do well.

Wanted guys with different arm angles because it presented a different challenge to hitters. Gave them "different looks" is something he talked up

I remember that pen in 2011.  Go out and get Albert, Wilson and then they put Isringhausen and Hawkins as the primary pen arms.

Signs two guys who weren't yet cleared to throw....     Trades away a young controllable RP for a broken down 5 inning SP.

Two games in a row that I've paid minimal attention to, two wins. And, when they won the other game I was busy when they scored their runs.

Somebody bribe me to stay busy tomorrow.

Game time 4:07 PM, please plan accordingly.

Thanks!
