That infield is going to be absolutely insane in a couple of years.  Machado at 3B, Tatis at SS, Urias at 2B, Hosmer at 1B. 

That should match their pitching staff though. Lucchesi, Paddock, Allen, Quantrill, Baez and Morejon are going to be completely unfair and homegrown.

But Angel fans, do you see what happens when you have home grown talent? The only three spots that actually cost money are 1B, 3B and LF. The rest of the 25 man roster will be very inexpensive yet very competitive for the next 5 years. 

This is what Eppler is trying to build. Once Pujols' contract is off the books, the only spots that will cost money are CF, SS, LF, though I'd argue that our current LF is likely to move to 1B 2 years from now. The rest of the money can be used to extend guys like Adell and Ohtani in the future, or as an expenditure on a front line starter.

Sorry to disagree here Lou but apples and oranges.

Machado is a little lazy but he produces.

Albert is running as fast as he can and still sucks.

Machado out by three steps instead of two.  Pujols out by six steps instead of two.

Well, it is interesting that this ended up being about what was originally expected, but far more than recent estimates.

So it seems likely that we'll see Machado at $30M AAV, Harper at $33-35M, and Trout at $40M. After all that. I suppose well done on Machado and his people holding out.
