Given the interest in him, I’d be surprised if he cost less than Marsh or Jones.Who knows, they might even ask for Canning. I really don’t want to give up any of those guys.

Am I exaggerating what New York would settle for? I’m no expert, for sure.

I definitely don't think he would cost one of those guys. We are probably looking at a return of one mid-level prospect or two lower-level types. Look at it this way if Sonny Gray signed a one-year deal right now it would probably be somewhere around $14M so at most he has about $5M in surplus value at his current $9M salary. That isn't much, he shouldn't cost a lot.

If I were the yankees, I'd want a solid bullpen piece and a low level prospect with high upside.

The Yankees need bullpen help? Who knew???

Chapman thru 2021. Britton thru '21 or '22. Ottavino thru '21. Betances thru next year. Kahnle. Holder. Who am I missing?

They are loaded to the gills.

If the Reds are hypothetically trading their #6 and #7 prospects plus a draft pick I am glad we avoided Gray, that is way too much in my opinion.

The Reds have gotten bent over backwards this off season.   Sure they’ve improved the major league team but are they close to the Cubs or Brewers?

or the Cards.

the pirates could actually still be better than them.

they're gonna lay out 5 prospects for a year of puig, kemp, wood, roark and gray.

when another team does something like that it reminds me of how that could be the alternative for the halos.

it would essentially be like giving up Suarez, Chris Rodriguez, Regifo, Maitain, and Thaiss.

I wonder if theyre planning to flip those guys at the deadline for even more prospects. How was their farm before all this?
