Tonight is the perfect example of why the Angels have some favorabilty with their remaining schedule.

Indians vs. Red Sox, Mariners vs. Orioles, Rays vs. Blue Jays....no matter which team wins those games tonight, it helps the Halos in some way. 

A lot of our competition finishes the year playing a lot of our competition (or better teams even) and it creates the potential environment where none of competition is really able to gain ground, and if one is able to by going on a year, it helps the Angels by likely coming at the expense of another competitor.

The Angels remaining schedule doesn't play out the same. We really only have to put away Seattle and Baltimore head to head (and we have done that so far) and stand our ground against the other teams we play.

It'll be fascinating to see how the Astros fare the rest of the year. Only 12-16 since the ASB, 3-9 in August, lots of injuries, and some lowered morale after the trade deadline.

I don't think the division is in reach, but I hope the Angels don't feel that way. Nine games against Houston still.

At one point they were up by 18 games and a loss tonight could leave their lead at 11.5...
