Climate Change Horror Stories

It is actually brilliant. Climate change concerns would benefit from more nuclear energy and less fossil fuels

That is true.  Nuclear power is significantly less problematic than non stop burning of fossil fuels.  Of course there’s the question of the nuclear waste.  Still.

I think we have the technology to safely deal with the waste. To be honest, I’m not sure why there isn’t a push for more nuclear energy?

Yeah, I’m sure that is a big factor but I’m certain there’s money to be made off any energy we choose to use.

If we were to extensively expand nuclear power generation it would significantly drive down energy costs.  Nuclear power is not profitable.  It has never been profitable.  It’s extremely efficient and runs 24 hours a day.  It’s a pretty good microcosm of how the sausage is made.  It doesn’t matter that it’s “better”

Chernobyl, Three Mile Island, Fukushima.

One error on a coal plant, solar farm, wind farm, gas plant, and life goes on.  Even the threat of anything on a Nuclear, and you spend the next few decades closing down the boobs.

Yet none of those are going to achieve our clean energy goals. I think the risk of a massive disaster is fairly low and would be worth the risk.

Lol.  Ya man.  The extraction of fossil fuel has never caused massive catastrophe.

So what, it was still cold as balls wasn’t it?

I can see how a rise in temp like that is a concern but the article says that both poles “melting” at the same time. I didn’t think ice melted at 10°.
