Climate Change Horror Stories

Recommended Posts

Quote

If we all continue to rely heavily on fossil fuels for our energy supply, climate-change related damages will become very severe long before there is any real pressure on our fossil fuel supply. A transition to a clean energy economy cannot be motivated by a scarcity of fossil fuels — it must be driven by a concerted effort to keep the climate livable and healthy.

Didn't say they would run out.

Oil companies, gas companies and the federal government collectively invest billions of dollars each year in research and development to create new fossil fuel technologies. The state of the art will continue to advance, enabling economical access to new reserves well into or beyond the 21st century. There is even the potential for a major breakthrough that enables access to new types of reserves. For example, Japan recently announced that they were able to extract methane from undersea hydrate deposits, a world first. Methane hydrates may contain more than twice as much carbon as in all of Earth's fossil fuels combined.

Even if no more fossil fuels were to be discovered or deemed extractable, our nations already possess far more reserves and recoverable resources worldwide than we can burn without destroying the climate. Humanity has burned just a small portion of our fossil fuels to date.

Correct. What about his thoughts on climate change?

It’s always the same the left. We’re all gonna run out of fossil fuels and the oceans will rise and swallow the beaches blah blah blah. They just keep changing the impending doom to a later date because it never ends up happening.

Yes they’re worried about their kids quality future  while ramming socialism and drag queens in their 1st grade curriculum.

I own a Tesla. It’s just a toy. There’s nothing “green” about it. I like it though.

And I can attest that it makes you look like a total douche, which is awesome.  Love it.

My kids won't.

I’m still not convinced you’ve actually participated in the conception of any children.  Maybe picking photos of real men from a booklet, but that doesn’t count, in my opinion, but hey, I’m like 46-ish.

Because the only way we've ever managed to generate electricity is via fossil fuels and it's never going to change

We should be building Gen III nuke plants if we’re serious about green energy but we’re not. Solar panels and wind farms are much easier for politicians to grift money from. They’re the gifts that keep on giving and they don’t produce shit for kw/hr.

Well, there is nuclear.  But then Fukushima happened and we realized we are on a similar fault line.  There is hydro, but we ran out of water.  There is wind, if the wind blows and the birds don't fly into them.  There is solar, but conserve energy between the peak times of 4-9 because the sun don't shine, and the first thing you want to do after a hard days work is not do anything like cook, clean, or watch tv because you need to conserve energy.  There is natural gas, but that is evil because of Porter Ranch, and it should all be closed.

But everything should be on electricity.
