What a fun game last night, although we looked awful at times Fasth bailed us out every time.  Getzlaf is a beast!  Gotta get the W Sunday against the Blues to cap off this homestand right!

I went to the game tonight. They started off pretty awful, but then turned it on after Cogs netted that shorty. Getzlaf is just a total monster. Hiller played pretty well I thought

how crazy is this.  Blackhawks just got off to a great start.  Running away with the points lead.  

 

Or are they?  Blackhawks 45 points.  Ducks 39 points.  Blackhawks 26 games played.  Ducks 24 games played.  If the Ducks win those 2 games, 45 points to the Hawks, 44 points to the Ducks.  

 

Reminds me of this time when a team won 20 games in a row, it was all national and the rage.  And this other team was still right on their heals.  That team trailing didn't get much recognition, because my goodness winning 20 games in a row.  I think it was 2002 or something like that.  Nothing interesting happened in 2002.

Ducks play Chicago twice this month.  It is still early of course but those games could go a long way toward deciding the #1 seed.

I'm going on the 20th. I had the Blackhawks circled as the must see team this year before the season started so it's the one game I have tickets to. It turns out it may be the game of the nhl season.

ESPN has the Ducks at #2 and Chicago #1 still.  I think they are right, Chicago has played two more games and has 6 more points.

 

ESPN also has Getzlaf ranked as the #5 best player in the NHL.

The Ducks traded right wing Dan Sexton to the Tampa Bay organization for center Kyle Wilson. Wilson has played in 22 games this season for the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL. Sexton, who had played 27 games for Norfolk this season, has appeared in 88 NHL games. … The Ducks recalled Patrick Maroon and Devante Smith-Pelly from the Norfolk Admirals.

Last I heard he was getting closer but still not cleared.  Don't think he is going tonight.

Fasth with an upper body injury.  They say day to day.  I guess he got hit by a shot in warmups.  The backup goalie is a local goalie coach until Deselarius (butchered the name sorry) arrives.
