That was a great thread.

All because yk was just trying to give the man some advice.

i don't think i followed the whole thing to the finish, but saw the meat of it. one of those things that will always pop up in the greatest threads conversation here.

It gets better and better.

Now instead of refunds they are offering tickets to next years "event."

i love that they paid kendall jenner $250k. these guys are screwed.

mark geragos is leading a lawsuit against them for $100m.

vice is a joke but still a decent read:

haha.

"By March, things were starting to get desperate. The festival was running low on cash, despite significant investments from a New York City socialite who also worked with McFarland on his failing millennial credit card company, Magnises."

When I first heard about this on the radio last week they were saying that the 25 year old guy who is one of the main guys is a shyster who has an interesting resume as an "entrepreneur."  One of his business ventures was him offering some kind of annual service where people paid like $250 while he claimed he could get them backstage at concerts, into big parties with famous people and so on yet he never delivered.  If it's true it makes a bit more sense that he convinced a bunch of people he could pull this off.

"One month before thousands of well-heeled millennials were set to descend on a remote island in the Bahamas for the Fyre Festival to frolic on yachts, rub elbows with models, and hear acts like Blink 182..."

LOL.

If you coughed up thousands to fly to a remote island for a concert that Blink 182 was headlining, you deserve to lose your money.

Edit: Or, basically what @red321 said.

“Would you prefer to exchange your 2017 ticket(s) for additional 2018 VIP passes, as opposed to receiving a refund? (Ex: If you purchased 3 passes for 2017, you would receive 6 total 2018 VIP passes),” the form asks. “We have received support and commitments from several musicians to perform at next year’s event. We would be so thankful to have your support as well.”

Early word is "Crazy Town" will be headlining next year.

Get your tickets now!

Maybe they can get that dude from Sugar Ray or Smashmouth to headline

Did you just randomly mention those two?  Asking because the Woody Show at 98.7 is putting on a concert at Queen Mary park with both of them, Spin Doctors and Eve 6: http://www.queenmary.com/events/rock-the-queen/

If I want to see them that bad I'll hit that up instead of spending 4K or more to possibly get held hostage.

I can safely say....I wouldn't know a nickleback song if you were standing outside my window in the rain with it playing on a boom box

i'm trying to decide if this is a metaphor or an invitation, and personally, i'm okay with either.
