Kiffin's FAU Promo Video

Recommended Posts

This video has been making the rounds on the Florida Gators forums. He's pumped up, isn't he? If there is a coach in the country who is less satisfied with where he is, I haven't seen him.

For a while, I thought that FAU might have sent him out in handcuffs until he got it right. He kept his hands behind him until right at the end.

Kiffin had a better offer from Houston. However, being the douche that he is, he already had his eye on his next stop before he even signed with the Cougars, and he balked at the size of the buyout that UH insisted on (since they were tired of their coaches being poached). So, enjoy your time in Boca Raton, where students leave games at halftime to go to the beach even though they get game tickets for free, and attendance at the last home game last season was less than 6,000.

Is this FAU's way of keeping up with the UCF's, and their former coach the resume lying O'Leary?

FAU has had a dream of being a major player in football in Florida for years. They made a bit of a splash by starting out with Howard Schnellenberger as head coach. He already had considerable cachet in south Florida from his time at Miami. Since Schnellenberger retired, they have had a succession of coaches. Kiffin may be an insufferable douche, but people know who he is - something that FAU has not had since the very beginning. I'm sure that they know that one of two things is going to happen: Either Kiffin will be successful and leave, or things will stay about the same and he will eventually be fired. For now, they are in the news, and for a school that spent $70M on a football stadium but had less than 6,000 people in the stands for the last home game, that is worth a lot.

Their fan base is almost as bad as LB's and CSF's was, before they dropped football some 25 years ago.

Houston, you dodged a bullet.   Nicely done
