Angels claim Vicente Campos from Arizona

Never heard of him before this.  Note that "ML" below is actually "minor league," not major league.

looks like he missed 2014.  TJ .  Made 13 starts in 2015 and performed poorly.  Worked his way up through 4 levels with the yanks and even got an appearance in the bigs for AZ.  Looks like a high 80's fastball in that appearance but apparently he can touch mid 90's.   Went from NYY to AZ in the clippard deal and was also part of the montero/pineda.

His injury history is concerning, but he might be in the starting rotation before the end of 2017.

Between Meyer, Banuelos, and Campos, you'd gotta hope at least one turns into a really good reliever at the minimum. All of them have had some solid prospect hype, just been derailed by injuries. I like that Eppler is stockpiling these lotto ticket types.

He has former prospect pedigree just like Banuelos and Meyer so Eppler is just targeting that former upside to see if we get lucky which I am all for.... try to bet on the ceiling not the floor.

Another nice "micro-transaction" (good one, 1984). This is exactly the type of thing that Eppler should continue doing...I imagine him scouring the waiver wire until 2am every night.

Anyhow, he really does fit into the Banuelos, Meyer, Oberholtzer mold. Seems less likely to success than Meyer or even Banuelos, though. Still, he'll be stashed in AAA and should get some starts. Maybe bullpen potential.
