How many players would Eppler have to clear out to add a $17M salary? Strad, this is exactly why I'm against all of those long term backloaded deals. You end up with expensive players with zero market value at the end with no trade clauses. Braun would be a nice piece but Arte has already committed to $100M to Wilson, Weaver, Pujols and Hamilton. You couldn't find any MLB teams that would take any of these guys contracts.
