What the F happened this weekend?

That's bad news. Next year's FA market is garbage. The top players are like 33-35 yr old bats or Stephen Strasburg and his constant injury risks/Boras as his agent

This was the year when we needed to spend, and we didn't. Next year, it's guys like Mark Teixeira and Chase Utley.

My guess is that we're going to see long stretches of little to no offense this season.  That's why I made that $1,000 bet with Dochalo.  I know that people desperately want this team to be good--or, at the very least, to be entertaining to watch--but with the collection of talent, I just don't see it happening this year.  Obviously, I hope I'm wrong, as I'd much rather be down $1,000 and to have enjoyed the season.  We'll see...

I would be making plans as to what to spend the grand on.

Those of you with selective vision might want to look at the Runners in scoring position stat.

What a f*cked up series that was. come on Angels you cannot manage even one win. missing in action was our offense. Time to shuffle the deck.

At least all the games were very close. We have been good on those lately we really blew it this weekend. Hope we do better against the White Sox.

On a smaller scale, the Twins were due and the Angels have looked pretty bad aside from the Oakland series. But it IS early, and we don't yet know how good, bad, or (most likely) mediocre the team is. So hang in there.

Not too early to see...

An average pitching staff

Pujols hitting home runs and doing nothing else

Cron looking like son of Pujols

And, Trout, again taking meatballs then swinging at junk

500 club at best

Angels are missing two starting pitchers... and Mike Trout will get it going.

It isn't Trout that worries me. When you can only manage two runs in a 12-inning game, you aren't going to win very often, regardless of the starting pitching.

This is one of those situations where we will win 3 against a good team and lose 3 against a bad team. I expect this team to be around .500 or slightly worse and we are playing like it so far. This is not surprising. What would have been surprising is if we started out with a good record in April.

The fact that they averaged 86 wins from 2010-15 has only furthered that notion, that we're just a few tweaks, choice free agents, savvy trades, and breakouts from returning to perennial contention. But again, it simply hasn't happened.

That doesn't mean it isn't true though. We may have a crumbling infrastructure but we were legitimately only three or four smarter moves away from standing atop the division during those seasons.

Baseball is a weird sport though.

We swept the A's on the road, then they took 2 of 3 from the World Champion Royals.

I don't know if there is much evidence for this, but I really think it comes down to match ups and how your team is feeling a lot of the time. The Angels played like they were all hung over this weekend. Some times your pitchers just match up well with another team's lineup.

Trout hit a ball off the wall and was held to a single, Really? Of course he over ran first base, but come on. There were many hard hit balls right at the defense, and all the games were close. Yes, we should have not been swept, but things happen. We're fine, don't pull the trigger just yet.

Go Halos!!!
