Angels acquire IF Jefry Marte for Kody Eaves

Wonder if it makes Kubitza or Cowart more available? Mostly a 3B in the minors.

From what I can tell he isn't much more than AAA 3B/UT depth, but think we'd have to make room for him on the 40, which is currently full.

Yea, I read this and have no opinion of it. Unless the team has a deal to move Kubitza for a left fielder, this is basically one of those moves that before Twitter we wouldn't have even heard about.

I'm mostly intrigued by this in the event it's a precursor to another trade. I think Marte would require us bumping someone off the 40 - Rey Navarro or Deolis Guerra? - but also could be a 2 for 1 trade like a SP plus a reliever or Cowbitza for an OF.

Crushed them in the majors too, albeit a small sample. .920 OPS in 40 PAs, 3 HRs, 3 2Bs.

I imagine that's at least one contingency the team is willing to let play out in ST. If that comes to fruition, they can play wait and see with the SP depth and pick off an OF when the opportunity arises and with a seemingly functioning 3B platoon, things may not be so bad.

What happens with LF in this scenario? Nava full-time? A platoon at three separate positions (C, 3B, & LF) is pretty hard to fit in to a 25 man roster.
