3 ****ing hits. This is the worst Angel performance I can remember for the money and talent that is supposedly there.

What offensive talent is suppose to be there?

Doesn't help that Aybar is having perhaps his worst season as a full-time starter.

His best years are behind him but he is still a really good SS. Just not much of a hitter

He's still a decent clutch hitter, especially late and close, but that's about it at this point. A tough season for him.

 

 

edit: Actually, taking another look at his numbers, he's hitting over .300 in August. I guess the fielding could use some work, but he's not terrible overall.

I get the Cron love tonight but you're kidding yourself if you think he will make a lot of difference. I will concede that there isn't a better option at DH so he should get the grunt of the starts there. I'm keeping my expectations low

 

Maybe, maybe not, but he has been damn good since being called back up. He and Calhoun are the only ones hitting right now and it would be very dumb of Scioscia not to start him every day. Meaning, he will likely not start every day.

We have two guys on pace for 40 home runs.  It should not be this hard to surround them with guys who can get on base to score a few runs.

No one is saying he's Babe Ruth. All I've seen is that he needs to play everyday. When you're other options are Dejesus and Victorino I think that's valid. Of course Mensa will realize this in late September.

He should only be a DH. He's giant Giavotella in the field

Yes, but they didn't. So there really isn't much supposed talent offensively outside of Trout, Calhoun and Albert.
