I agree with you. Especially against a righty. Apparently, they seem to think Cron can hit. I think that HR in his first game back bought him at least a few starts.

The Angels do use the shift, albeit poorly in many cases. In one game last year Weaver was seen chewing out Scioscia in the dugout when Sosh called for extreme shifts and players bunted against him successfully three consecutive times.

Last year was the first year that the Angels really used these extreme shifts. Just because they bunt succesfully against the shift doesn't mean they are using it poorly. If players utilized the bunt more often, the shifts would be less dramatic.
