Sanchez is being pushed back a day and Todd Redmond will be starting for Toronto now.

Redmond came in for Happ last year and pitched 4.2 while giving up 5 hits, 1 run (unearned).

I like it, though I would rather see Giavotella in the leadoff spot and Aybar batting 9th. 

 

Time for 6-8 to start producing.

yeah, I give MS credit for making a change in the middle of the order - something needed to be done, and Calhoun is probably the best in-house solution. I just wish he would drop this Aybar at leadoff thing once and for all.

All we can do is hope Aybar hits well out of this spot. We know he's not going to draw many walks, but if he can hit near or over .300 we'll be in good shape.

Gia not seasoned enough to lead off just yet. His numbers have been slowly dropping. Aybar is a much better choice right now.

 

It is basically moving deck chairs at this point.  Nobody is getting on base enough for it to really matter who is leading off.

well, Aybar is super streaky. When he's hot, like he is now, having him at leadoff is OK. But we all know he'll cool off, and when that happens, since he doesn't take walks, he's pretty much useless as a leadoff hitter.

As much as I hate Aybar in the leadoff spot, he's probably the best choice at this point.  Gia is best suited in the 9 spot.  Don't want to ask too much of him at this point.
