Voting on the otherhand? If I want to be lazy and make up excuses on social networking why I didn't vote, then god damnit I should have that right!

If you wanted to more than triple the number of uninformed, lazy voters who are assuredly going to vote only based on "R" or "D" it is a great idea.

This sentence was IN the article:  

Obama floated the idea of mandatory voting in the U.S. while speaking to a civic group in Cleveland on Wednesday.

 

So either the reporter was mistaken and took the quotes we see out of context or there were more quotes that were not put in the article that led the reporter to the conclusion he made.
