Favorite Comedian??

Recommended Posts

Kathleen Madigan is hilarious. Also a fan of John Caparulo, Henry Cho and Steven Wright. Biggest disappointment: saw Jeff Foxworthy live for the first time, did not hear one joke I had not heard before, no new material. Would like to see Bill Engvall live, but his shows here are rather pricey.

See Rocky LaPorte if you ever get the chance. Ditto Gary Mule Deer.

Favorite living would be Steven Wright. The best I saw live was Richard Jeni, he was amazing. About 5 or 6 years ago we went to the improv and saw Todd Glass, it was right after he was on Last Comic Standing. My son was only about 13 or 14 back then and he was a fan because of the show. Well before he goes on stage Todd is kind of roaming around the club. My wife sees him and tells him that our son is a big fan. Todd says, "Well let's call him". He uses our phone calls and talks to my son for a few minutes. That was an incredibly cool thing for him to do. Then he mentioned him a couple of times up on stage.

It's Bill Burr.

Has been for over a decade now.

I was going to write the same exact thing.

It's Bill Burr for me and as i knew I wanted to write him in thought about how long it's been. I've been to a ton of his shows and his podcast is probably better than his shows.

Growing up it was Bill Cosby that made me roll on the floor laughing.

Later I got to hear the leader of the comics that that now cuss words as a foil, Lenny Bruce when I got into the stash of one of my friends father's collection that included Richard Pryor's early work.

Listened to a lot of comic musicians like Stan Freberg, Alan Sherman and Tom Lehrer.

Saw Tim Allen on stage at the comedy club one year before he did his sit com Home Improvement. Me and my friend both fell off our bar stools as our wives looked at us like we lost our minds.

It has been too long since a comedian got to me as much as Cosby, Pryor or Allen.

Please post some of your favorite bits!  I've heard of all these comics, but haven't seen much of them.

One of my favorites was Sam Kenison.  And (sorry to the haters), I really like Dane Cook...  Of course, I used to watch the Diceman all the time back in college too.

Basically, I'll give any of them a chance tho there's only a few female comedians I can stand (Amy Schumer is one).
