This is all on Scioscia. 1. For starting Hamilton over Cowgill, his defense alone cost us at least a run. 2. For pulling Freese, one of the only guys in the game to produce in the 7th inning and 3. Having Calhoun bunt in that cringeworthy inning.

wouldn't be a scioscia postseason without at least one godawful, back breaking inning

Yes it was a Beane head move. The Royals play small ball the Angels have showed their power this season. Why the hell would you take the bat out of Calhouns hands that early in the game.

Started Hamilton against LHP (that alone should be grounds for impeachment)

Suddenly shifting to long extinct small ball

Bunting one of his best hitters on 3-1 count

Removing Freese who had just hit a HR

 

Pujols looks exactly like he looked the last 30 or so games...unable to deal with quality pitching, too old and too slow

If Trout doesn't come around, Angels lose in 3

The Calhoun bunt in the 8th was just plain awful, followed closely by removing Freese, who has postseason success and is a power threat.

That Calhoun bunt was retarded, but it's not like anyone in the middle of the lineup showed that they would have done anything anyway.  Albert and Trout had several pitches to hit tonight and missed all of them.  ALL of them.  neither of them squared a ball up.

We know the limitations with this rotation...this team insn't going far unless the offense swings the bats. Tehy were a joke tonight vs a mediocre pitcher. That's the game

 

Trout was awful

Pujols was pathetic

Hamilton was a goddamn joke

Calhoun had a 3-1 count, and he was still told to bunt.  I started hearing the voice of Tom Hanks saying "What? Are you Stupid?"  Calhoun had 2 sac bunts all season.  Why put one of your better hitters in a position to fail?
