Also thought that his pitch count limit was around 50-55 pitches. He was at 43. Thought they should have let him start the 5th at least. If he gives up a hit or a walk then you pull him

 

Still plenty of game left though and it's just a one run game, for now. Can't let them score the guy from 2B

He is a relief pitcher that had yet to complete 4 innings so far this year. It is also 98 degrees out there so why ruin the guy when we have a bullpen full of arms?

It isn't the amount of innings, it's the pitch count. He had thrown 17 pitches the previous 2 innings and was only at 43 pitches. He threw 49 in his previous start. The heat wasn't bothering him through the first 4 innings, so there was really no reason why he couldn't have at least started the 5th.

 

This inning has now been a complete disaster when it could have otherwise been avoided.
