They were discussing this on mlb network a few nights ago. Reynolds and whoever else basically dismissed the idea that any pitcher would groove a pitch for Jeter. It happens every now and then. There's a great segment in Ball Four where Jim Bouton talks about some minor league team that gave HR bonuses to players in cash. In blowout games, pitchers would groove one to one of the home team's hitters, then split the money between the pitcher, hitter, and catcher after the game.
