I wasnt huge on signing him, but I absolutely wanted us to sign another arm.

I think this is a good indication that the FO is being honest when they say theyre going into the year as is.

Hoping a trade is maybe in the works

When did they say that?

the angels have said numerous times already that they're comfortable going with the team as it's currently constructed.

as far as a trade, is there much of a record of trades being made this close to spring training? i don't think there is.

dipoto has had a few quotes saying skaggs and santiago are in the rotation. And I could be wrong but I think he also had a quote where he said the rotation is set (I could be wrong though).

I assumed that was just postering, but the left over arms arent going to be any cheaper (capuano maybe). If its the same cost and a draft pick...I think we're done

What a relief. Some players would always be hard to like in an Angels uniform, almost like picking up Pierzynski to take over the catching duties. If that were to happen, I'd still be hoping a pitcher would bean him or our own team would beat the crap out of him.

That's a lot of money to pay for someone who's inconsistent.

As much as I'd love another pitcher, I'd rather go without on this one.

I'm not a big fan of Arroyo but saying he's inconsistent couldn't be further from the truth.

He's actually been one of the most consistent starters in baseball in the past 10 years.

One of the most consistent of the last decade? I don't see it.

Especially considering the fact he was considered an ace.

Not even close.
