People are skeptical that he'll be an impact player. He can't play defense and his bat is questionable coming from the Cuban equivalent of A ball. That's a stupid contract for the White Sox who aren't even close to competing.

Chapman, Leonys Martin, Cespedes, Puig... a lot of talent coming out of Cuba lately.  We'll wait and see what Abreu brings.

I'd have rather him gone to another team.  I viewed the White Sox as a possible trade partner for Trumbo, but I am guessing they will no longer have any interest.

This, plus we were already overbooked at 1B/DH.

 

The focus is still on starting pitching, starting pitching, bullpen, bullpen, 3B, and Baylor getting Pujols and Hamilton back towards where they are SUPPOSED to be and getting Trumbo to STOP hitting like Timmy Lupus 2 months out of every season!

I honestly couldn't tell you if he was a Mark Trumbo type mostly because I haven't the slightest clue who Mark Trumbo actually is.  Is he the guy that's going to hit .270 with 35+ HR's or the guy that's going to hit .230 with 30 HR's?  I felt like he's made great strides at the plate and in the field over the past couple years, then he'll just disappear for several months at a time. 

 

I mean at some point you don't even call it streaky anymore you just he's hit or miss, literally. 

 

I know at the point if I were to choose between the two I think I'd choose Abreu (not considering money of course).
