provides nothing but disappointment to hundreds of thousands of people.

My happiness isn't tied to the Angels.

I can have empathy for people who have made bad decisions, but aren't necessarily bad people, regardless of their financial standing.

Sure, but it’s his unwillingness to admit he’s wrong and operate differently that’s the issue.

Instead, he’s being stubborn and doing it his way.

This last off season and this current season seem to indicate he is operating differently.

Don't misunderstand me.  I want him to sell.  I wish he would sell.

he's not wrong.  he's operating the team for a profit and doing a spectacular job of that.  Unfortunately, that doesn't marry with winning baseball.  Years of doing things the same way clearly indicates he has no intention of doing things differently.

But this year IS different.  No big FA contracts.  Keeping draft picks.

It looks like they're in a "soft" rebuild... THAT IS different.

This is the unfortunate truth of it for us fans.

Arte is a businessman first, and his business has been extremely successful. Winning doesn't affect that. He's made a profit and will eventually make 5-6 times over what he bought the franchise for. And there's not a damn thing any of us can do about it.

I'm not saying he doesn't care about winning, but it's absolutely a distant second to him making a profit.

The double-edged sword of being in a market like the Angels, is you get a laid back atmosphere as well as a bunch of fans who aren't as passionate about what's actually going on on the field. That's why you can boycott the games all you want and it will have minimal impact because someone else will gladly buy your seat and enjoy a relaxed evening out at the stadium. So Arte never faces the scrutiny he would in New York, Boston, or LA. He dipped into the LA market and got all the tv revenue without any of the expectations that come with it.

I don't know how you can make a definitive statement like that.  It "might" be true, but we don't really know.  All we know for sure is that he's made horrible decisions.

I personally believe that winning would bring Arte a bigger windfall than just about anything else.  He just hasn't figured out how to win.

He lowered beer prices 20+ years ago.

That was a very good thing, just about the only good thing he ever did. I did enjoy that $4.50 cup of beer-flavored water when I attended games.

But seriously Arte, sell the team and get the hell out!

So I just heard that they replaced Arte in the Calling All Angels montage with, wait for it.....

Peter Bourjos.

A great CF defender with a great baserunning stride!

Every day is a slow day for Blum.  No one on the Angels will give him a legitimate answer to anything at this point.

Based on some of their interactions it seems Washington is already sick of him or has been told there have been issues because he seems rather pointed when he responds to his questions. Blum tried to ask about Rendon (asking if he had changed anything) and got shut down pretty soundly. It was a pretty stupid question to be honest but whatever, blackballing him would be really stupid.

Also, while I find Arte potentially having himself removed from the video to be hilarious, what if anything did that have to do with anything that actually matters?  Blum knows the soft targets and how to generate clicks.  I know many hate him but the Athletic probably likes him - he's generating traffic for them.  Its almost a "don't hate the player hate the game" type of thing.
