what in the world happened to cj cron? i don't remember what his injury is, but i didn't think it was going to take so long for him to recover.

@Jeff Fletcher any updates?

This is from 5 days ago:

Los Angeles Angels manager Phil Nevin said "it will be a little bit of time" before first baseman C.J. Cron (back) can return to the team. Cron said on Monday that he has yet to start swinging a bat, but he's hoping that he can still return before the end of the season. He also dealt with back issues earlier this year before being acquired in a trade with the Colorado Rockies at the deadline in early August. The 33-year-old tried to play through lower-back inflammation before he was put on the 10-day injured list on Aug. 18 (retroactive to Aug. 16). With very little time left this year, fantasy managers shouldn't expect Cron to make it back. The Angels called up rookie Nolan Schanuel, a first-round pick this year, to help fill in at first base with Cron sidelined.

We talked to him a few days ago and he said he was getting better but not yet cleared for baseball activity. He says he is trying to come back but it seems like maybe he won’t make it. He said he’s had this back issue since May.

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/09/angels-activate-ben-joyce-zach-neto.html

The Angels announced this afternoon that they had activated right-hander Ben Joyce from the 60-day injured list and shortstop Zach Neto from the 10-day injured list. In corresponding moves, first baseman Trey Cabbage and left-hander Kolton Ingram were optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake. Anaheim’s 40-man roster stands at 39 after activating Joyce.
