I’m not really sure of a single controllable SP that’s realistically believed to be on the market. Aaron Civale? Seeing as how it will probably be a seller’s market, I sort of wonder (not Quero exactly) if a deal where the Halos acquire multiple rentals from one team - for a fairly steep price - has a real chance. 

It sucks spending big on a rental, but if Edgar Quero netted you a couple rental arms is it worth it? Especially if one of those arms was a decent re-sign target?

Several ‘sellers’ have clear catching needs.

St. Louis has Flaherty, Montgomery, Stratton, Hicks all hitting FA this year. Contreras and yes, Goldschmidt, also could be in discussion. Flaherty is a re-sign candidate. 

White Sox have Giolito and Lopez. Grandal could be a weird bench/C add. Graveman has one year remaining. Giolito would be a good re-sign candidate.

Cubs kinda have Stroman and Hendricks, who have options. Stroman’s loved on Ohtani and Trout enough that he’d seem a possible re-sign. Michael Fulmer also a FA. Barnhart and Gomes, like Grandal, could be catcher adds. Has an option.
