Let's do a short review of Nevin's decision making.

Start with Canning entering the 6th after already throwing 100+ pitches.

Leaves Canning in even after he has gone past his highest career pitch count and allowed two runners to reach base.

Pulls Canning for Herget to face left handed Kinner Falefa (a Mediterranean side dish that translates to eat shit) when he could have at least gotten Loup up to go the left handed matchup.

Refuses to commit Seppeku in order to regain Ohtani's confidence in the organization.

Bingo. They don't how to hit sac flies, doubles, singles etc... All they do is either strikeout or hit a solo homerun when they're already behind.
