Let’s be real; they are 2 games under .500 with bad starting pitching, an atrocious bullpen where no lead is safe, and the position players are mostly hurt or ineffective. With 60 or so games left. 
If they were going to make a run it would have had to of started already, like what Philly has been doing.

It may not if Arte has already decided he is not trading Ohtani.

You could be right but with TBD pitching Wednesday you never know.

How are we losing this one?

1. Uncompetitive 7-2 blowout

2. Hit into triple play while down 1 run in the 9th with the bases loaded and no outs

3. Ohtani hits 4 HR's, Angels lose 16-13

4. Angels run out of relivers and are forced to use Squid in the 12th inning; he subsequently gives up 6 runs and the Angels lose 9-8

The Yankees are one of the wild card targets. Moving up three games on them is a best case scenario for this series. Even 2 of 3 only advances one game in that race. With the schedule winding down, series by series.

Not quite yet, but it's almost sudden death time with some of these series against the other wild card hopefuls. The Houston series ended up one game worse than when it started. And it should have been one game gained. 

Sweeps will become a necessity at some point if more ground isn't made up with the rest of the schedule.

At the very least, I'd like to see us get some of the young guys back like O'hoppe and watch them develop.  It would be awesome if they turn out to be like Salmon, Glaus, Erstad and Anderson.

i just heard on the warmup show that the Yankees' lineup has a .231 average, fourth worst in the AL (?). I hope Canning isn't just the cure for a slumping batting order.
