Gameday Thread: Yankees vs. Angels (July 17th, 2023)

Offensively this team reminds me a little of the 1977 Angels. Bobby Bonds was by far their best hitter. Nobody else was even close. Don Baylor had a little bit below average year for him. Grich and Rudi were the other two big free agent signings and they were pretty much injured all season. They only played in 116 games between them.

They did have Dave Kingman on that team for 10 games before they traded him for Randy Stein who never pitched for the Angels. Kingman went on to hit 270 more home runs including 48 with 115 RBI's in 1979.

So you should stop following the team.

If thats how you feel.

Been watching for the last 14 years of trash baseball with 1 year of the playoffs mixed in. What’s one more season, especially when you still have the opportunity to see Ohtani do something amazing like he did last night.

I think you should waste 14 more years, considering the joy it brings you.

Fair enough.  Ohtani is worth watching.

Forgive as I try to stay optimistic.

Huh?

Once Oaktown moves, they most likely won't be run the same way they were run in Oakland.

Why put all that money into moving, and stay bottom dwellers?

If so, what's the point in moving?

Was that easier to understand?
