Several current Angels have ties to San Diego.

Brandon Drury (2022), Aaron Loup (2019) and Hunter Renfroe (2016-19) have all previously played for Padres.

Mickey Moniak is a native of Encinitas and attended La Costa Canyon HS in Carlsbad (approx. 30 miles from Petco Park).

Manager Phil Nevin played seven seasons in San Diego (1999-2005) and ranks third in Padres history in home runs (156) and RBI (573).
