Better get their crap together.  They haven't instilled confidence by any stretch.  I hope the FO is quick to move on from guys if they're not getting it done.

Those solo homers in the 7th and 8th innings were truly horrible pitches. 
 

Loup’s was an 89 mph sinker  that was put on a tee for Chris Taylor. 
Quijada’s was a get me over 90 mph fastball that couldn’t have been placed any worse.

luckily we seem to have a small amount of reliever depth if we need to move on quickly.

Which is great, since none of the stats matter. That said, pretty much every single one of the guys expected to be part of their pen have had bad springs, and we already saw how mediocre Loup/Tepera were last season.

The veteran guys all need to perform well- Wantz has options but who else?  Say Loop continues his poop ways, you just cut him and his $7.5 M this year plus a $2M buyout on his 2024 salary?

The bullpen is what spearheaded our 14 game losing streak last year. Hopefully we don't let it snowball. Short leashes on these guys. Most don't deserve a long leash anyway.

This is the primary reason i still say the off season was incomplete.
We didnt address this or the need for a legit SS.
I hope im wrong, but from where i sit the SP better be as good as we think as the pen definitely will not be.

We have no idea how the pen will be and we certainly can’t speak in absolutes about it. It’s a bullpen and anything can happen.

It works fine for Quijada… when he has good velo.

It works at 94-96, but not at 91-93.

The Angels bullpen will be successful if:

- The starters pitch deep into games.

- The offense gives the bullpen more breathing room.

- The front office is ready and willing to move on from relievers quickly if they look cooked.

Short leashes in terms of duties within the bullpen, yes.  But I’m not sure any of these guys are going anywhere:

Floplag, JMO, but I don’t think we need a SS.  Neto looks good, and hit a couple balls really well last night.  Fletcher is still on the club, so I think we’re ok until Neto takes over.  Bullpen looks good, too. We have a bunch of power arms waiting if Loup, Tepera, or anyone else doesn’t pitch well.

The SS signings were impossible for us. All too expensive when we had other needs, plus we signed Moore! He was an expensive bullpen addition

If 77 mph gets outs, I don't care what the velo is. 

None of our other guys in the pen throw hard either.

We really need to hope and pray that Joyce comes on quickly with his command of his secondary offerings and Carlos Estevez was just F'n around this spring on new pitches and we haven't seen the best of him yet. I don't have any confidence in any of the other guys until proven otherwise.
