I don't get how people are saying that we're saving money? we still need a closer, and to get a good good closer you still need to pay about the same...and the closer market isn't good at all last year.

Meh, who needs a closer when you're fighting to stay out of last place. I don't really care who blows our one save opportunity every 2-3 weeks

The board has a few vocal guys who like to complain and throw mgmt under the bus (for everything).  Throw in a few guys that either root for Yankees, Red Sox, Rangers, Astros, Dodgers, Mets, or don't understand marketing and overall player value, and that pretty much sums up the state of things.   Unfortunately alot of the above have been long time posters.

I do think it's kind of funny that we sign Iglesias to this contract, seemingly happily committing to him as our long term closer, only to trade away his entire contract just a few months later all while celebrating getting out of it.

This team will have an uphill battle to contend next season as well, so getting rid of Iglesias salary is fine. Having that kind of money invested in the bullpen(a bad one at that) on a sub .500 team just compounds the already long list of problems this franchise currently is dealing with
