No other team has flubbed as many signings of other teams’ FAs.

What will you do when the current average sold tickets of 31k dwindles to 20-25k by later on in the season?

Maybe finally pay for a REAL FO, manager, coaches, and scouting/development?

Or will you do the most Arte thing, and sign Trea Turner for 10 years/$350 million, and continue to ignore what ails this organization, like the big splash guy you are?

In his defense, im not sure theres very many who could have preficted how bad Pujols would be. We knew he'd be ugly at the end, but...

 

One all-star game? Nobody could have predicted that.

Same as Hamilton.

Essentially, pujols came over when we were still in good shape. And then trout emerged.

The 2012 team was best in baseball once trout came up.

So with Pujols (hey, he had to adjust!), trout, an on paper good rotation (weaver, wilson, haren, santana), and a young crop with trumbo and that generation, we threw in all our chips on hamilton.

It was that one year... the 2011-2012 offseasons that sunk this franchise.

Aside from rendon, the rest of the wssted money was simply having to thrift shop because we were out of money.
