Agreed, just comes as a surprise. They said they were concerned he would further injure himself throwing, and as of yesterday I hadn't heard anything about him showing any improvement in his strength tests. Considering how bad Lagares looked it's a question about what's more probable, that he just woke up stronger today, or Maddon has just seen enough of this team without him in the lineup.

Lagares game changing error was the 8th inning. Guess who Maddon will replace Ward with and he will bat leadoff in the 9th.
