They were in the minors learning how to pitch. If they were part of the Opening day roster you would be complaining how they weren't ready to pitch at this level.

Actually...... He's complaining how they were sitting on the bench at the MLB level not being used AFTER having learned how to pitch in the minors...

If you're looking for silver linings, the young guys that might be a useful part of the future did well, and every game they lose the rest of the year helps them with their draft position.

I'll make jokes and take some shots at them but I really don't care if they win more than twice a week if all the key pieces for next year get healthy/perform well.

Why does Maddon let guys like Wantz and Tyler sit for days on end?

Playing his favorites, who can’t pitch?

It's easy to be negative, possibly more fun to do so.  But he may just be genuinely trying to ease them into situations where they do well.  I really have no idea but like I said above....despite whatever smack ill be spewing I'll be happy so long as those guys do well.

2022 and on is the only thing they need to worry about now.

Seems to me there’s a bunch of good young players and Maddon might be a good guy to be there.

Some of it might be that they're a little more able to be stretched out and throw 3-4 innings, and he's trying to hold them for 'starts'.

I know that runs counter to the recent bullpen games, but maybe they're trying to plan ahead? Not sure.
