Mayers has righted the ship after a mediocre first two months.

Past 38 innings (since June 1):

3.55 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 5 HRs allowed, 41/8 Ks/BBs

Re-sign Iglesias, bring back Mayers, and add one other experienced late innings guy to go with the young potential in the pen.

Should still leave enough money for an experienced solid starting pitcher and re-signing Cobb.

I think once Marsh is a little more experienced, he's a good fit for leadoff. He'll walk more and strikeout less than he is now, and could be a .280/.370/.450 guy as soon as next year.

Any word and when we might see Detmers and Rodriguez back? It would nice for them to log a few more innings this year. Rodriguez has been on the IL this year, what, three times? Or two?

Is 3.55 ERA as a reliever really that good?

I always though good relievers would be low 3's or 2's ERA?

Technically only once since his current DL stint in is AAA.  But this would have been his second time.  Based on his socials, he's been throwing so I think they may have shut him down competitively.

I love how the announcers talk about how Frazier isn't getting many extra base hits since he came to the Padres--and then he immediately smacks a run-scoring double.

I would like to see the matchup of Nippon-Ham 's alumni, Darvish and Otani.
However, the matchup is realized means that Darvish will probably make a good pitch.
This is not a good situation for Angels.

This game is over already.

Darvish with the 8.00 ERA since July 1, but looks like 2012 Darvish so far tonight.

Selman must have been the throw in for the Watson deal.   Looks terrible since being called up.

I think we have seen enough over the last few weeks to establish that Selman and Petricka shouldn't have any sort of future with the Angels.
