The medical staff are all on the IR with ligament and joint issues.

The injury questions on canning were with the arm.  I don’t recall anything about his back.  I don’t think it’s fair to make that logic leap.  When the Angels drafted him the farm system was miserably thin.  Canning was a (and remains) a high upside type of player.  I liked where they drafted him and looking back on it I still think they made the right call.  Canning will be back (probably - welp)

It’s quite possible that the medical staff’s offices are closed due to saturation.  They are on diversion status, no medical beds available.
