I don’t think we need to ditch Upton, with a ton owed on his contract next year, but I am starting to think we don’t need to pencil him in as a starter for 22 either. He may not like it, same as Pujols, but just because you have him on the roster doesn’t mean he gets consistent AB’s…

I think Mayers is probably a non-tender candidate in the off-season, given that he'll be eligible for arbitration again and is already making $1.2M this year.  Given all the arms in the minors that have developed this year, seems like you could try to save a little there--or use his money for a free agent reliever.
