I have long had this idealized goal of seeing them start 10-4 as that has often been the mark that good teams have right out of the gate.

Yep!  There's a City of Men series, and then a feature film version of it, as well.  It's solid, though not as good as COG.

its hard to top the original.... thats about as perfect of a movie as there ever was.

Its crazy that it was almost all untrained "non-actors".

That scene when Lil Ze makes the kid shoot the other kid felt as real as anything Ive ever seen on tv.
