Look at his numbers last 5 years. Look at Buttrey numbers.

I've been for Ward not only as 4th OF but to start in RF. I also would put Rojas on this team as backup inf.  Oh wait he cannot play SS while you do not need him to. If something happens to Iglesias Fletcher can play SS. If Iglesias goes on IL call Rengifo up from minors. Lefty bat off bench who do you want Rojas or Rengifo? Fowler back to St Louis as PTBNL.

Yes at many positions

His track record so much better than Buttrey. Does not have to be Petit but Buttrey not answer in pen.

Ideally: Ward, Lagares, Rengifo, and Rojas with Pujols and Fowler getting the boot. But there's zero chance that happens.

It seems like he's making a late push, but either Ward or Fowler is gonna need to be able to play CF in order for Ward to make it over Lagares. Neither has made an appearance in CF this ST, if I recall correctly.

Yeah, the money isn't an issue but I think Maddon's would give him a lot of rope even if he struggles.
