But all-in-all the Angels are stacked with outfield options. Wonder if it's a way to fill in for Upton should something happen with his knee...... Or toe.

Trout, Upton, Fowler, Jay, Lagares, Ward, Schebler, Adell and Marsh.

WOW

They have a lot of quantity but not a lot of quality.

There's a reason Jay, Lagares, and Schebler signed minor league deals and there's a reason why they had to acquire Fowler and not bring up Adell or Marsh.

Really like our OF depth now with Trout, Upton, Fowler, Ward, Lagares, Jay, Adell, and Marsh.  Should prevent us from ever having to play some of the crap we had play OF for us since 2015.

I agree.  Jay looks kinda washed up though, but that said, we have more than enough depth now.  Adell and Marsh should spend most of the year in AAA and properly develop.

Upton was vintage Upton a majority of last season.  He was just a steaming pile of shit the 1st 18 games.  After that (24 games) he was pretty great, .981 OPS.

That's like saying he was good when he didn't suck.

Jon Jay not bad for a ST invitee flyer.

decent depth type bench player - decent defensive outfielder - once had some speed.

some power but not overwhelming.

clearly a bench depth guy if he makes the roster - assume there is plenty of competition.

what's the regular season roster limit this season?  26 ? or 28?  whether Jon Jay can make the opening day MLB roster may well depend not that decision - why do I think its 26 instead of 28,. Not sure.

at this point in his career would Jay agree to be a 4-A player - probably not but maybe,
