Protests and Riots Thread

Masks rant aside, my point was a couple of posters on here bashed me for calling out the Chauvin trial process and precedent it could set. Now that proof has surfaced a few in here have changed positions. Just  surprised people can't see through the BS early on.

The judicial system cannot support a juror lying during selection. Chauvin's constitutional rights were denied. The prosecution cannot benefit from fruit of the poisoned tree, whether that be by illegally obtained evidence or jury corruption.

It was an MLK Commemoration event, not BLM event.  Though neither are the same as a protest.

It's safe to say most black people support BLM.  Does that mean no black people should be in the jury?

It comes down to whether this was a fair and impartial jury as required by the constitution. You can parse words about whether it was a protest, rally or commemoration event but that shirt he was wearing in that photo leads me to believe he may not have been impartial. If it was determined he lied to get on the jury then Chauvin should get a new trial.

'BIPOC' class opened to White students after racism complaints

A rock-climbing course at an Ivy League university in New York state has now been opened to all students after critics complained about racial segregation, according to a report.

The so-called "BIPOC" course at Cornell University was initially available only to students who were Black, Indigenous or represented other "people of color" groups, the Cornell Daily Sun reported.

But media reports portraying the course as banning White students – as well as complaints posted on Reddit -- prompted the university to lift enrollment restrictions, the report said.

The rock-climbing course "is designed to enable Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian or other people of color underrepresented in the sport of rock-climbing to learn the sport and to feel included and supported," a course description reads. "The class is open to all Cornell students interested in rock climbing with this special focus."

Most Portland rioters have charges DISMISSED by US Attorney: 58 suspects of the 97 arrested have cases scrapped, while 32 more are left pending

Just seven people have entered guilty pleas, and just one is heading to prison having been caught red-handed setting fire to the city's Justice Center.

Edward Schinzing was caught on video setting fire to the building. He had his shirt off and, helpfully for police, had his name tattooed on his back.

I just went rock climbing a few days ago, and as climbing was so glad there were no minorities around.

How would you feel if half the jury were KKK or NAAWP   members?

Hush! You aren’t allowed to point that out.  You’re more guilty than the black dude with a hammer.

“So when a Black person attacks an Asian person, the encounter is fueled perhaps by racism, but very specifically by white supremacy. White supremacy does not require a white person to perpetuate it.”

Fuck off for posting this article! I read it and am now dumber for doing so. I can’t afford to lose any further brain cells.
