Alright, how the hell does this work? Do you need a secret door knock or something? I need to head out for a beer tonight, been way too long.

So......Larry and I had lunch today at this spot. I had friends that went yesterday and it’s technically a deli. But a certain police department and looked to be firefighters were in there eating and drinking. It’s kind of a don’t ask, don’t tell thing from talking to the owner. While things are shutdown it seems to be their spot and they are cool with everyone in there.

What I heard from a few people is places that serve drinks are doing this thing where you go in to “get a pick up order” and while you’re hanging out “you’re still waiting on your order” or “your food isn’t ready yet” if someone asks.

This was my first time out since the lockdown outside of going to the store. Owner seems to be fed up, the police seem to be cool, and patrons come in and it was like a regular bar at one point.

For me it was just word of mouth from long term locals. My good friend is a long time bartender and got the word.

Not gonna lie, felt pretty good to be out and have some normalcy.

Bartender friend just texted me that they got the go to re-open. Need to do some prep and setup work, but I assume they will open early next week. She's on call to go in and help make sure everything is ready to open.

Not sure if it's just Tustin or the whole county.....or even if it's just their spot, but I'd assume everyone else got the green light.

Good to know. I lost my ID back in January and had been using my passport for ID check stuff, but I left it on the bar by accident when the shutdown happened on St. Patricks. They've been closed ever since and I haven't been able to pick it up.

A lot of people have been getting fat at home, but I have mostly been avoiding all the junk food I'd normally have.

I had to come up with a plan to avoid the weight gain in lockdown, now I'm thinking Im gona need a plan to avoid the weight gain with things opening back up.

Big time. I was down to 2 or 3 beers a week during covid. Now that we once again have beautiful freedom, i see the return of jaundice and liver problems in my future

I climbed San G once. I went through dollar lake and horseshoe meadow if I remember correctly. Then we went down the switchbacks on the other side.

It was many years ago. Slushy meadows also comes to mind.

I think Disney tried to build a resort up there at one time.

Went back there today and had their pastrami. 3x the amount of people. No masks. Breakin’ the law.

Nice. I want to go back and keep talking to that bangin El Salvadorian and Russian chick.

and maybe I’ll order another Italian sandwich

This sounds more like a metaphor than a meal, Although I suppose it could be both.

btw, if her name is slushy meadows, get out of there quickly.
