All through High School and college I had a friend that owned a snowboard shop in Big Bear so I never had to pay a single dime for a lift pass no matter where I went. Unfortunately his wife blew her brains out and he sold the business shortly after and moved out of state with his kiddos. Very sad for his family first and then sad that my sweet hook up was gone forever.

That started out as a cool story then took a turn.

I think we all can be thankful that it ended up being a mild version

By spreading so easily more people have natural immunity which is a good thing

Hopefully we can see an end to all this Covid

That's what they will want you to believe.  Remember Sweden, and their quest for natural immunity?  Then all the nations and scientists laughed and said it wasn't possible, and even they said it wasn't possible.  Now that it suits them, science is on their side.  Until all these cases of people getting it multiple times start becoming more and more common.  We'll be taking vaccines till we become Larry and DGAF.  Which will probably be soon for most Americans.

It wasn't a slow turn, either. That was a 180 on a dime.

You are welcome for me not giving the details of her actual suicide. Very heart breaking and disturbing

Haven't been snow skiing in about 20 years, since my wife hurt her back in a car accident.

What are those super-short skis that people are using? I don't remember ever seeing skis that short on an adult.

I've contemplated buying some short skis, hiking a peak, and skiing down with them.  I'd first have to learn how to ski though.

Ya, sorry, seemed like I was making light of it.  I had a friend who did the same and the details sucked.

Unfortunately I've had numerous close friends that have dealt with suicide and it is ALWAYS ugly. I sure wish people would reach out to others before they commit to killing themselves.

It has been my privilege to teach QPR training since last year.  I am able to teach groups of people to be able to spot signs and word phrases from people who might be considering ending their lives.  It them gives them ways of being able to have a discussion with them and then leading directly into them getting professional help.
