The guy has an avg stat line of 34 home runs, 35 doubles, 878 OPS has won an MVP and has a couple all star appearances. I think he is properly rated. I wouldn't want my team to sign him to a 4 year contract at 33 but that's besides the point. He has been a really good/great player for a while now.

Donaldson isn’t overrated it’s just that contracts like this to a player his age are very rarely ones that teams are happy about in the end.  I didn’t want the Angels to touch him and I’m glad they didn’t.

Angels will be paying Rendon $38.5M/yr during his age 34-36 seasons (Donaldson's deal runs through his age 34-37 seasons).

Yes, but Minnesota only gets those years, not ones preceding them as well.
