That seems a bit premature.   As far as we know he  considered his comment carefully, weighing the balance of his rights, the protection of the union and the mixed public opinion MLB would be under for openly opposing what would otherwise be simply a free speech issue.  As it is, there are virtually no consequences for the tweet that I'm aware of outside of him taking down his account.  I'm sure his 10 followers are  mourning.

This may just be tilling the soil for his post-retirement book.  "Keepin it Red While Wearing Blue"

Definitely.

In fact, the chief MAGA is known for considering his comments extremely carefully.

In a statement Wednesday night, the Major League Baseball Umpires Association said Drake chose the "wrong way" to express himself while showing support for all umpires.

"Rob is a passionate individual and an outstanding umpire. He chose the wrong way to convey his opinion about our great country," the umpires' association said. "His posting does not represent the view of the MLBUA or reflect those of the umpires we represent.

"The MLBUA supports all of the umpires who ensure fair play in the greatest game on earth. We are a group of individuals with diverse opinions and beliefs, united in our desire to continue our excellence officiating MLB games."

still think he gets fired?

How is it that people still don't understand the difference between freedom of speech and employer discipline? Perfect example of a lack of Constitutional awareness. He should be fired for publicly supporting a civil war, not a complicated issue.

we understand.

He should probably pick up a couple of Joe West albums just to be safe.

I bet he’s already one of 10 people who already saw The Reliant.  Didn’t know about this pro fascist propaganda movie until Brad Cinema Snob Jones’ review yesterday.  Sorbo never fails to leave me DISAPPOINTED!

And Eric Roberts is in this.  To think the star of A Talking Cat!? would stoop this low.  Money talks.

I remember when Kaepernick was doing his thing, people were all about free speech back then and didn’t seem to understand the NFL could do whatever it wanted. They weren’t taking away his right to do whatever he wanted to do.

They are allowed to not employ him though.

A peaceful protest is definitely the same thing as publicly calling for a "Cival" War.

If the NFL and its teams decide having him and his protests do more harm than good, it’s their right to not sign him.

Just like it’s the people involved in Drake’s situation can decide to do.
